Abstract
The Public Utility Commission of Texas asked staff at Berkeley Lab and the U.S. Department of Energy to provide training in preparation for a rulemaking on resiliency plans that Transmission & Distribution Utilities will file pursuant to recent legislation. This training covers the following topics:
- Estimating the Economic Impacts of Power Interruptions (or the Value of Reliability/Resilience)
- Economic Impacts of Widespread, Long Duration Power Interruptions
- Distribution System, Grid Modernization, and Resilience Planning
- Integrated Distribution System Planning: Status, Challenges, and Approaches
- Causes and Impacts of Grid Outages, Metrics for Measuring Resilience, and Valuing and Prioritizing Strategies
