Bio

Ingrid Xhafa is a Scientific Engineering Associate at the Lab, researching on clean energy topics in the Energy Efficiency for Development (EE4D) program. Her research interests include renewable energy and storage, microgrids, energy efficiency, energy access and security, productive use of electricity, economic development, women empowerment, etc.

She is the current climate tech program manager for the Cradle to Commerce (C2C) program, a public-private partnership that aims to accelerate climate technology, by revitalizing patented science and knowledge from four national labs in the country and spin new climate startups.

Ingrid has a decade of management experience in leading development and research projects across geographies in countries like Albania, Hungary, Jordan, Rwanda, Uganda, and the United States. Before joining the Lab, Ingrid was part of the Act Now Coalition team, a nonprofit startup that builds accessible data products fostering evidence-based decision-making in the health and energy space. She has a master’s in Development Engineering from UC Berkeley, with a concentration in Energy, Water and Environment and a master’s in Public Policy from Central European University in Hungary, and University of York, in the UK.
