Postdoctoral Researcher
(510) 486-0000

Gözde Barim is a postdoctoral fellow in the Energy Storage Group. Her research interests are in the development of functional materials for energy applications. At Berkeley Lab, her work focuses on the synthesis and characterization of 2-D heterostructured electrode materials which can be used in a wide variety of rechargeable battery types. Gözde obtained her Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Southern California, where she focused on new solution-phase synthetic routes to functional nanomaterials for energy storage. Prior to doctoral studies, she received her M.S. and B.S. degrees in chemistry from Bilkent University. In 2017, she has been elected as a full member of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Honor Society. Gözde has been serving as the Lab-Industry Networking Connection (LINC) Committee Coordinator at the Berkeley Lab Postdoc Association since September 2019. She is one of the Berkeley Science Fellows of the Berkeley Postdoctoral Entrepreneur Program (BPEP). She has been elected as a member of the User Executive Committee (UEC) of the Molecular Foundry in January 2020.
