Bio

Dr. Chuhyung Kim is a postdoctoral researcher in the Energy Storage & Distributed Resources (ESDR) Division of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL). His current research focuses on the mechanistic characterizations of metal ion capture and releases in hydrogen-bonded inorganic-organic framework and its regeneration process.

His research interests include water-energy-nexus, self-remediating nanomaterials, metal recovery & recycling, and reactive membranes. Previously, he developed self-remediating nanomaterials for spontaneous environmental redox reactions under dark ambient conditions and established a photoelectrochemically hybrid system to mineralize microplastic with simultaneous hydrogen energy production.
